'Look A Like' Doll by Little Island

The 'Look A Like' doll is a large plush robotic toy that looks like you. You simply send your photo to Little Island (the company) in Japan and they will create a doll with face, hair, and clothes similar to you. The dolls have the ability to talk, react to touch, nod, and wave. Cutting-edge technology embedded inside the doll enables these features. There is a microphone on the doll's head as well as servo-motors in their limbs that enable this movement. There is also a built in camera as well as interactive touch switches.

The most unique part about this doll is that it speaks in your voice. The 'Look A Like' doll comes with a built-in voice synthesizer. You simply record yourself speaking for a couple of minutes and then the doll is programmed to speak in your voice, ala Stepford Wives. The feature is intended to enable users to convert text to speech when hooking the doll up to the intenet. The 'Look A Like' doll will read web content (such as the weather or news) to you in your voice via RSS news feed. You simply plug in the provided LAN cable into your computer. All versions of the doll take six weeks to custom make. The advanced model retails for $2,200. Below is a Youtube.com video link:
